Very nicely redone on the inside along with a community kitchen to cook your own food, also a grill outside if you want to grill, very friendly atmosphere, great people
My wife and I recently stayed at The Cobblestone Inn (formerly the Thompson Arms). The rooms and lobby were very clean, and the staff was very friendly. There have been many upgrades and we would recommend this hotel. Great little cafe next door too.
7 guests got kicked out minutes after checkin because we were not informed that there was not a bathroom in one of the rooms and therefore requested a new room. All we wanted was 1 more room that had a bathroom in it. He had originally told us that every room had one. However, it ended up being a community bathroom in someone else's room. The guy that runs the place was very rude, and displayed common characteristics and mannerisms of a frequent drug user. When we requested a new room he screamed at cursed at our female boss that we needed to get our "crap" and leave. He claimed the motel was booked full, but there was only 1 other person staying there. Would not recommend staying here, particularly if you are staying with your family.
I stayed in a room upstairs had my own bath. It was not the cleanest and i found a couple different bugs during my stay. There was never staff there if u had a question. Very outdated and creepy bldg used to be an old jail house. The downstairs is poorly lit n creepy would Not stay again
The rooms down stairs are a " community living" style. There are 2 bathrooms to 8 beds. One of the bathrooms is located in the guest laundry room, that is accessed through one of the bedrooms. This caused some security issues. We politely asked if arrangements could be made to accommodate us in the upstairs rooms (there seem to be private bathrooms in this area) we were told by the manager/owner "Get out! I don't have time for this!" He was very disrespectful to my wife.
